How do I encrypt a file?
What type of files can I encrypt?

All of your encrypted files reside locally on your computer under: ATOFIAe\Encrypted Files.
Can I encrypt a folder or directory?
No, folders and directories are currently not supported.
Can I encrypt a hard drive?
No, hard drives are currently not supported.
Can I encrypt more than one plaintext file at a time?
No, only one file at a time can be encrypted.
What is the maximum plaintext file size limit per file?
The maximum plaintext file size limit is 333K per file.
Is there a limit to the number of files I can encrypt?
There is no limit to the number of files than you can encrypt, other than the available free space on your machine or storage device
Does ATOFIA store my encrypted files on their servers?
No. ATOFIA servers are not set up to store your encrypted files, so it up to you to decide where you would like to store them.
Does ATOFIA have access to my encrypted files?
No. ATOFIA does not have access to your encrypted files. You have complete control over your files and who has access to them.
Can ATOFIA scan or copy my encrypted files?
No. ATOFIA cannot scan or copy your encrypted files.
Can I download my encrypted files to a storage device?
Yes.
Can I decrypt and read my encrypted files on my storage device?
No. Your encrypted files can only be decrypted and read by the machine that licensed the application.
Share Files
Who can I share an encrypted file with?
Can I share my encrypted files with people within my organization that do not have the application installed on their computers?
Can I share my encrypted files with people outside my organizations?
No, sharing encrypted files with people outside of your organization is not supported.
Who is in my group?
Who is permitted to edit the team members in my group?
Currently, your organization’s account admin is the only person authorized to edit the team members in your group.
Decrypt Files
Can I decrypt more than one ATOFIA file at a time?
No, only one file at a time can be decrypted.
Where are my decrypted files located?
All of your decrypted plaintext files reside locally on your computer under: ATOFIAe\DecryptedFiles.
Can I move my decrypted files from ATOFIAe\DecryptedFiles?
Yes, once you have decrypted a file, you can move it to wherever you prefer.
Who can decrypt my ATOFIA files?
Only you and the people that you select within your organization can decrypt your ATOFIA files. You have complete control and visibility of who gets to decrypt your files.
Can ATOFIA decrypt my files?
No. ATOFIA cannot decrypt your files.
Does ATOFIA have access to my decrypted files on my local computer?
No. ATOFIA does not have access to your decrypted files on your local computer. You have complete control over your files and who has access to them.
Does ATOFIA store my decrypted files on their servers?
No. ATOFIA does not store your decrypted files on their servers. You and only you decide where your files are stored.
Can ATOFIA scan or copy my decrypted files?
No. ATOFIA cannot scan or copy your decrypted files.
Miscellaneous
How do I log out of the application?
Click the X in the right top corner of the header.
Should I use the application when my computer is in safe mode?
No. Since there may be a system-critical problem that interferes with the normal operation of your windows environment, we recommend that you do not run the application until your computer is running normally.
If I replace my computer’s motherboard or network card, is my license still valid?
No. During the installation of the application, certain information is taken from your motherboard and network card to help create your digital fingerprint. If hardware is changed, then the digital fingerprint changes and the license is void.
What happens, if I (or anyone else) attempt to decompile or tamper with the application?
If the application has been tampered with, its functions will be disabled, and any encrypted or decrypted files may not be recoverable.
How long does it take to restore the encryption and decryption functionality?
The process may take up to five (5) business days.
If my encrypted files are damaged or destroyed during the tampering process, can ATOFIA repair or recover the files?
No. Unfortunately, ATOFIA has no means to repair or recover damaged or destroyed files.
Is my license transferable?
No. Your license is not transferable.
No. Offline access to the application is not available.
Yes. Before access is granted to the application, your binary fingerprint is verified through a multi-source authentication process, including interaction with our cloud-based server.
